Check out below to see where the Sharper Tennis pathway can take you…. ?

ADULT BEGINNER: Monday 7-8pm
We deliberately keep the class small with two coaches to accommodate varying abilities. Each session will build upon the last focusing on technique across all the shots & games to slowly introduce and teach players the basics, including stroke production, serving and keeping score. The four-week course is repeated each month and players are welcome to enrol as often as they feel they need to before moving onto ADULT IMPROVER or SOCIAL TENNIS. Next course: Monday 6th May- Monday 27th May

ADULT IMPROVER: Tuesday 6.30-7.30pm
This BRAND NEW four-week course will offer a recap from the BEGINNERS and will have a strong emphasis on building upon doubles skills. Game-based learning is used to emphasise basic stroke production. Again, players are welcome to enrol as often as they would like to. Next course: Tuesday 7th May-Tuesday 28th May

ADULT INTERMEDIATE: Tuesday 9-10.30am
This on-going term time session is for more experienced players who want to gain consistency. Players at this standard will have a basic skill base and will probably have played tennis for some time.

ADULT ADVANCED:
League team training sessions as required.

So what is your standard?

Beginner…This means you’ve never played, just started playing, haven’t picked up a racket for years or are still working on the basics of your game.

Improver…You know the basic techniques and are able to keep a rally going, however you still make quite a few mistakes and you may find serving difficult.

Intermediate…You play fairly regularly and your technique is solid. You use some tactical play when competing but struggle a little when putting together points against advanced players.

Advanced…You have played a lot of tennis over many years. Serving with spin, placement and power are part of your game. You can rally consistently and create opportunities to win points off both your forehand and backhand. You compete regularly or have the desire to do so.

It’s difficult to make an objective self-rating; we recommend you ask a coach to decide for you.

Wembley Downs Tennis Club also offers….

SOCIAL TENNIS & A FULL RANGE OF COMPETITIVE OPPORTUNITIES.
If you would like to play regularly for fun and fitness then WDTC has a welcoming social tennis scene and various competition leagues – more details of which can be found on their website.
